RON K’S KITCHEN
Poultry are domesticated birds kept by humans for their Eggs, their
Meat or their Feathers. The word "poultry" comes from the
French/Norman word poule. The domestication of poultry happened
around 5,400 years ago in Southeast Asia. Most birds available in
today’s market are reared in intensive farm enterprises, but
tendencies are now migrating towards raising Free Range birds for
their more flavorful Eggs and Meat. Free Range Eggs will have bright
orange Yolks while intensive farm Eggs will have light yellow Yolks.
Today's poor factory handling practices due to government
deregulation now require that home cooked poultry at home should
now be properly handled and cooked to well done in order to reduce
the risks of food poisoning. WASH, RINSE, RINSE AGAIN your hands
and the Meat!
